telling minor stories to avoid a major one

Thursday Music Videos: Sunday Pitchfork Music Festival Edition by Barbecue Bros

A few videos from artsts appearing on Sunday at the Pitchfork Music Festival, which I will be attending this Sunday after a bachelor party in Chicago. Basically, I am interested in every show starting with Best Coast at 1:55, but obviously won’t be able to catch them all.

Sunday July 18 (gates at 12 p.m.):
1:00 Allá (a)
1:00 Cave (b)
1:45 Cass McCombs (c)
1:55 Best Coast (b)
2:30 Girls (a)
2:50 Washed Out (b)
3:20 Beach House (c)
3:45 Local Natives (b)
4:15 Lightning Bolt (a)
4:45 Surfer Blood (b)
5:15 St. Vincent (c)
5:45 Here We Go Magic (b)
6:15 Major Lazer (a)
6:45 Neon Indian (b)
7:25 Big Boi (c)
7:40 Sleigh Bells (b)
8:30 Pavement (a)

Best Coast – “When I’m With You” – Another entry in the lo-fi, 60’s SoCal beach-inspired indie micro-genre. We’ll see if this kind of music can translate outside of the warm weather months, but its pretty fun to listen to for now.

Local Natives – “Airplanes” – These guys were very good at Bonnaroo, and I was surprised how well their harmonies came off live. Also, one of their singers looked like Charlie from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” another looked like John Stossel, and another guy looked like Sideshow Bob.

Here We Go Magic – “Collector” – An extremely lo-fi video for the song off Pigeons. I caught them at Bonnaroo, but it remains to be seen if I will catch them this Sunday due to the numerous conflicts of the afternoon’s shows.
