Bowerbirds – “My Oldest Memory”The latest album from this “nu-folk” band from Raleigh is entitled Up in the Air and is available through the end of the month from Amazon for $5. This song isn’t on the album but this video was filmed at Pullen Park in Raleigh, right across the street from NC State.

Yo La Tengo – “Nothing to Hide” – I always respect Yo La Tengo, even if I don’t love some of their albums. They will, however, always get a pass for both I Can Hear The Heart Beating as One and And then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out. This is an extremely poppy, indie rock tune from their forthcoming album Popular Songs.

Whitest Boy Alive – “Burning” – I was just thinking yesterday that I should listen to Whitest Boy Alive more. I love their 2009 album Rules, but for some reason it slipped my mind when naming my favorite albums of the first half of the year. Here is the animated video for a song from an earlier album.
