Some of my favorite things – books, tv show, movies, etc – from the past week or so. It used to be a feature on my old site, so here we go.

1. Firefox 3 (link) – It released on 6/17 after a few months of beta testing and a few release candidates, but I only got around to installing it earlier this week. I’ve only used it over the past few days, but I can vouch that its a huge improvement and just feels slicker and more stable than the previous incarnations.

Available today in approximately 50 languages, Firefox 3 is two to three times faster than its predecessor and offers more than 15,000 improvements, including the revolutionary smart location bar, malware protection, and extensive under the hood work to improve the speed and performance of the browser.

2. Steve Carell signs on for 3 more years on The Office (link via Vulture) – Officially confirmed on Ricky Gervais’s blog, Steve Carell will be on the office for 3 more seasons. Not much more needed to be said.

3. Sigur Rós – Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust (link) – The latest from Sigur Rós provides a welcome change-up from their previous output (though you’ll find no complaints from me about anything they’ve done until this point).

4. When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris (link) – Another hilarious compendium of short stories from the humorist originally from Raleigh, NC.

5. Girl Talk – Feed the Animals (link) – You can still pay what you want for the latest album, which contains a shitton of samples. He also spoke with MTV about each track from the album here.
