oooohhh… Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing…BFD

Comment by Kenny

But it shall be henceforth known as “multiple Oscar winner, The Bourne Ultimatum”

Comment by twoguns

The next two movies I plan to watch are “La Vie en rose” and “I Know Who Killed Me.”

100% agree with Kenny here. Being a multiple Oscar winner and not getting one Oscar for anything a normal person can even notice is a joke.

Also, what is the difference between Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing, other than nothing?

I’d argue that you definitely notice film editing in any given film. While I personally can’t tell you the difference between sound mixing and editing, you definitely notice when a movie has its sound stuff done poorly.

Speaking of which…Bourne Trilogy viewing this weekend?

Really?? Pretty self explanatory… The editing assembles all the sound for a movie, and decides what stays and what goes (because just about every sound you hear in an action movie is recording after the scene is shot). The mix is done using the recorded sounds and basically decides which sounds have a higher place in the mix and therefore draws attention to them. See links below…

I mean…duh…

I know I am really late on this, but that is so stupid. You mean to tell me that one group of people “selects the sounds” for the movie and a different group (one that DOESN’T have a say in what the sounds are) decided which are louder and more pronounced.

Talk about the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Idea: Have the people picking sounds decided at that time which should be louder. Wow.

Just saw “I Know Who Killed Me” and it was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Stay away at all costs and don’t waste your time. 3/10. Only cause Lindsay Lohan played a stripper.
