So I went to see Superbad last night after getting in from out of town earlier in the afternoon and to my surprise, the movie theater was completely full on a Sunday night for a 7:30 showing. I mean, this was very nearly a Friday night crowd, both in terms of numbers and as far as the movie experience went. Luckily, Susong managed to snake two seats in a prime seating location (with a little cajoling) just before the Walk Hard trailer (different from the one I posted on Friday) and then subsequently the movie starting.

I found Superbad to be a supremely hilarious movie with a lot of laughs covering up quick retorts or follow-up jokes. That alone will warrant a matinee re-viewing in the coming weeks. Christopher Mintz-Plasse was great as McLovin, Jonah Hill had so much great comic energy, and Mike Cera’s comic timing is a marvel at his young age. Much like Knocked Up, I can’t recommend this movie enough if you aren’t afraid of raunch or foul language.

Superbad opened at #1 this weekend with an estimated $31.2 MM

– It currently ranks as an 8.8/10 on IMDb and is thus the #78 ranked movie of all time

– It has a 86% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 75 rating on Metacritic

After the jump is a clip from the movie portraying Seth’s artistic talent…
